The Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) has commended Governor Peter Mbah's leadership in Enugu State, citing his exceptional infrastructure development. During an interactive session at the Government House, the editors noted that Mbah's administration has built a solid foundation for growing the state's economy. This was after a tour of several mega projects executed by the administration on the sidelines of the 2026 All Nigerian Editors Conference (ANEC).
The NGE President, Eze Anaba, described Mbah's infrastructural revolution as a testament to what a sub-national government could achieve with visionary leadership. He noted that Enugu State's effective deployment of resources and dedication to governance offers hope for Nigeria. The editors had previously visited Enugu State for the NGE biennial convention, where they saw several projects, including Smart Schools and the ultramodern Technical, Vocational Education and Training College.
During their recent visit, the editors saw the completed Enugu International Hospital and an extensive road network, including the 40km Owo-Ubahu-Amankanu-Umualor-Ikem dual carriageway. They also witnessed the fully resuscitated Hotel Presidential and one of the mega Smart Secondary Schools nearing completion. The tourism complex at Ngwo Pines, featuring a zipline, and the ongoing Integrated livestock hub, which can accommodate up to 40,000 cattle, were also inspected.
Eze Anaba praised Mbah's administration for its peer-review mindset, which has attracted the respect of other state governors. He commended the governor's leadership results and noted that peer review would help states develop faster. Some state governments have sent officials to understudy Mbah's policies, projects, and programs.
Former governor of Ogun State, Chief Segun Oshoba, extolled Mbah's infrastructural milestones, particularly in security. He urged other states to emulate Enugu's hi-tech statewide surveillance systems, citing the swift deployment of security assets to track down kidnappers. Oshoba expressed confidence in Mbah's ability to keep the state secure.
Governor Mbah thanked the media executives for visiting the projects, highlighting that they were mutually reinforcing and designed to fulfill his campaign promise to grow Enugu State's economy. He noted that the projects aimed to make the state a preferred destination for investment, business, tourism, and living.
Mbah's administration has made significant progress in achieving its goals, including growing the economy exponentially and eradicating poverty. The governor emphasized that the various projects are interconnected and designed to achieve a common objective. The NGE's commendation is a testament to Mbah's effective leadership in Enugu State.
