Nigeria's Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, has initiated a statewide campaign in Oyo State to garner support for President Bola Tinubu's re-election and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the 2027 general elections. Tegbe began the campaign in Ibadan with strategic meetings involving party leaders, executives, and community stakeholders. He emphasised the need for unity and stronger grassroots mobilisation to ensure victory in the upcoming polls.

During the meetings, Tegbe called on APC members to take the mobilisation efforts to every ward and polling unit across Oyo State. He stressed that their victory in 2027 would depend on their ability to unite, engage with the people, and convince them of the benefits of continuity under President Tinubu. Tegbe highlighted the positive impact of Tinubu's power sector reforms, expressing optimism that ongoing federal interventions would improve electricity supply and enhance the quality of life of residents.

Tegbe made a strong case for Tinubu's re-election, citing the President's efforts to address electricity challenges in Oyo State. He disclosed that solar mini-grids would be constructed in different locations, while electrification projects in Ogbomoso, Oke-Ogun, and Ibarapa were nearing completion. These projects aim to address persistent electricity challenges and improve access to reliable power supply in the affected areas.

The Minister urged APC members in Oyo State to put aside their differences and work collectively to secure victory for Tinubu and the party's candidates. He emphasised that their commitment was not just about politics, but also about delivering tangible benefits to the people. Tegbe expressed confidence that the completion of the electrification projects would bring relief to communities that had endured years of inadequate electricity supply.

The APC governorship candidate in Oyo State, Sharafadeen Alli, who attended the meeting, expressed confidence in Tegbe's capacity to deliver on his responsibilities. Alli urged party members to support Tegbe with prayers, while other party leaders reaffirmed their support for the party's political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.

Tegbe's mobilisation efforts aim to ensure a strong showing for the APC in Oyo State during the 2027 general elections. By engaging with party members and stakeholders, he seeks to build a united front in support of Tinubu's re-election and the party's candidates. The Minister's efforts are seen as crucial in securing victory for the APC in the state.

The campaign is part of a broader effort to promote the APC's agenda and achievements in Oyo State. By highlighting the party's successes, particularly in the power sector, Tegbe aims to convince residents of the benefits of supporting the party in the upcoming elections. The outcome of the 2027 elections will depend on the effectiveness of such mobilisation efforts.
