A member of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council Women Mobilisation Wing, Gloria Akobundu, has expressed confidence that Nigeria is on the path to renewed greatness under President Bola Tinubu. Speaking at the APC Women Stakeholders' Mobilisation and Empowerment Pre-Inaugural Summit in Abuja, Akobundu urged women across the country to support Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027. She emphasized the need for continuity to sustain the ongoing reforms by the administration.

The summit, convened by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, brought together APC women leaders, First Ladies of APC-controlled states, and grassroots organisers. Over 500 women support groups from across the six geopolitical zones collapsed into the APC Presidential Campaign Council Women Wing, endorsing Tinubu for a second term. These groups include independent women support organisations such as the Torch Bearers and other grassroots mobilisation platforms.

Akobundu, also Secretary of the APC PCC Faith-Based Mobilisation (Christians), stressed that supporting Tinubu is crucial to consolidating the good works already set in motion. She urged women voters, particularly those in the South-East and other parts of the country, to support the APC in the 2027 elections. The summit was part of the ruling party's mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, addressed the gathering, highlighting the administration's Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0, themed "From Reforms to Prosperity". She noted that the agenda had moved beyond policy declarations to measurable changes in the economy and social sector. According to her, Nigeria's economy is stabilising, inflation is decreasing, and foreign reserves are growing.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu also cited the Nigerian Education Loan Fund as one of the administration's interventions, enabling university students to access student loans. She urged the women to mobilise support for the President, describing him as a leader who can be trusted to lead the country into prosperity. The First Lady disclosed plans for six zonal mega rallies and a grand rally in Abuja as part of the mobilisation campaign.

The summit featured the distribution of livelihood support items to women, including tricycles, sewing machines, and agricultural implements. Akobundu urged the beneficiaries to use the items to improve their livelihoods and support their families. The mobilisation effort comes as political parties and support groups intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The APC women leaders maintained that their immediate task was to consolidate the party's support base and take the message of the administration's policies to communities across the country. The Independent National Electoral Commission has continued preparations for the 2027 elections, while parties are expected to intensify grassroots mobilisation as the electoral cycle progresses.
