The Businex economic forum, now in its second edition, was held in Niamey, Niger, from October 30 to 31, 2026. The event, organized by GK Globale, aims to support young Nigerien entrepreneurs through panels, exchanges, and exhibition stands to boost their economic spirit and create a business-friendly climate. The forum's theme, "le Niger entreprend, innove et s'ouvre au monde," reflects the country's commitment to economic development.
The ceremony was presided over by Ali Samba Diabiri, Secretary General of the Ministry of Trade and Industry. During the two-day event, participants discussed topics such as agro-industry, finance and investment, digital technology, tourism, regional trade, infrastructure, mining, and energy. The forum also featured plenary sessions, panels, an exhibition village, and B2B meetings.
The forum's objective is to create a solid and dynamic entrepreneurial network that contributes to Niger's economic sector development. According to Diabiri, the theme chosen for this edition reflects the orientations given to national economic development. He emphasized that entrepreneurship involves liberating initiatives, encouraging creativity, and facilitating the emergence of new enterprises.
Hassane Kankay Souleymane, Director General of GK Globale and promoter of Businex, stated that the forum aims to bring together the state and private sector, seniors and young people, large and small enterprises, and institutions and project holders. He emphasized that Niger has the potential to succeed, with a large and youthful population, rich resources, and strategic sectors.
However, Souleymane noted that potential is not enough, and hard work, determination, and consistency are necessary to achieve success. He encouraged young people to train, persevere, and start small, emphasizing that lasting success is built over time. Maidah Zeinabou, representative of the Niger Chamber of Commerce and Industry, highlighted the forum's importance in promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic development in Niger.
Zeinabou emphasized that the forum reflects a fundamental conviction that national economic development relies on collective capacity to produce, innovate, and transform internal resources. She reassured that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Niger will continue to support economic operators, represent the private sector, and facilitate dialogue between businesses and public authorities.
The Businex economic forum provides a platform for young entrepreneurs to network, exchange ideas, and build a solid entrepreneurial future. With its focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic development, the forum aims to contribute to Niger's economic growth and transformation.
