The Minister of Public Service, Labor, and Employment of Niger, Aissatou Abdoulaye Tondi, attended the official launch of the training program for 500 young Nigeriens in Boumerdès, Algeria, on October 3, 2026. The program aims to equip young Nigeriens with skills in various technical and professional fields. The launch ceremony was attended by Algerian ministers, including Mohamed Hattab, Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Security, and Nassima Arhab, Minister of Vocational Training and Professional Education.

The training program is part of the cooperation between Niger and Algeria, focusing on developing skills and promoting employment. The 500 young Nigeriens will undergo training in several technical and professional fields, with their accommodation and meals provided during their stay in Algeria. Minister Tondi encouraged the trainees to be diligent, disciplined, and determined, emphasizing that they represent Niger during their stay in Algeria.

Following the launch ceremony, Minister Tondi and her Algerian counterparts visited two training institutions in Boumerdès. They visited the National Institute of Specialized Vocational Training (INSFP) "Djenadi Larbi" in El Karma, where they observed the training sessions for young Nigeriens and familiarized themselves with the learning conditions provided. They also visited the African Institute of Vocational Training, which presented its training programs and facilities for Nigerien beneficiaries.

The visits allowed the delegation to directly assess the reception and training conditions of the trainees and the system in place for their professional development. This initiative is part of the follow-up to the second session of the Great Mixed Commission of Algerian-Nigerien Cooperation, which focuses on implementing common agreements and programs, training programs, expertise exchange, and strengthening cooperation in labor, employment, and public service.
