The chairmen-elect of Enugu North Senatorial District's local government areas have vowed to prioritize service delivery and responsive governance following their victories in the recent council elections. Elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), they expressed gratitude to Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, and the people of the Senatorial District for their support. Chris Onyekachi Simon, Chairman-elect of Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, attributed his victory to massive voter turnout, which he said indicated growing acceptance and support for the APC.
Simon thanked Governor Peter Mbah and the people of his local government area for their support, promising to provide quality service in return. He also pledged to ensure peace returns to all communities in his local government area, uniting them for collective development. Meanwhile, Engr. Chinedu Asogwa, Chairman-elect of Nsukka Local Government Area, secured re-election for a second term and vowed to consolidate on his previous development initiatives, deepening service delivery to the people.
Asogwa's impressive voter turnout during the election reflected the strong confidence and goodwill the people of the council area have in his leadership. He promised to serve with renewed commitment, aligning with Governor Peter Mbah's administrative policies to bring good governance to his people. Asogwa also acknowledged the Governor's efforts in placing Enugu on the global map through good governance, citing the recent commencement of international flights by Enugu Air.
Dr. Innocent Ezeoha, Chairman-elect of Udenu Local Government Area, thanked the people for their support, noting that it was the first time a sole candidate emerged across all political parties in the council area's history. Ezeoha pledged to implement Governor Peter Mbah's disruptive innovation agenda, assuring residents of effective service delivery and the dividends of democracy throughout his tenure.
Dennis Agbo, member representing Igbo-Eze North/Udenu Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, thanked President Bola Tinubu for giving the South East favourable consideration in his government. Agbo attributed the APC's victory in the local government election to viable economic reforms by President Tinubu's administration, which has enabled state governors and local government chairmen to embark on gigantic projects.
Agbo, also the APC candidate for the Igbo-Eze North/Udenu Federal Constituency, expressed confidence that the party's acceptance in Enugu State would make the forthcoming general elections a smooth ride for the APC. Meanwhile, outgoing Chairman of Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, Uchenna Ogalla, thanked the people for the opportunity to serve and attributed the APC's victory to sustained grassroots mobilisation and vigorous campaigning.
Ogalla commended Governor Peter Mbah for completed and ongoing development projects across the electoral wards in the local government area, describing him as "God-sent" to the people of the state.
