Badejo, who assumed office on September 21, 2026, is the 10th substantive Vice-Chancellor and third female Vice-Chancellor of LASU. Badejo's eight-point agenda also covers infrastructure and digital transformation, staff welfare and industrial harmony, student welfare, mentorship, and employability. Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, approved Badejo's appointment as LASU VC on September 10, 2026, for a five-year tenure. Badejo, a professor of Guidance and Counselling, expressed appreciation to the university management, Senate members, staff, students, alumni, partners, and stakeholders for their support and goodwill since her emergence as Vice-Chancellor.
In an appreciation message to the university community, Badejo said the warm reception she received had reinforced her appreciation of the responsibility entrusted to her at an important moment in the university's history. The new Vice-Chancellor succeeded Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, whose tenure ended on September 19, 2026.
