Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate in Nasarawa State, Muhammad Abubakar Adamu, has concluded a free medical outreach for pregnant women in Lafia Local Government Area. The intervention covered the 13 wards in the local government and was organised under the M.A. Adamu Medicare for Renewed Hope Agenda Free Medical Outreach Programme. This initiative aims to support pregnant women who cannot afford essential materials required for childbirth.
According to Adamu, about 100 pregnant women were targeted in each ward, with beneficiaries selected irrespective of their political affiliation. The programme's goal is to empower pregnant women across the state, and Lafia was the final local government area covered. Adamu stated that the criteria for selection were random, emphasizing that the party does not consider which party or association a woman belongs to, as long as she is pregnant and from that ward.
The outreach programme has been implemented across the state's 147 wards.
