The Namibian government has announced an increase in Social Security Commission (SSC) benefits, effective October 1st. Employees earning a basic salary of N$500 contribute N$4 per month, while those earning between N$501 and N$12,000 contribute 0.9% of their basic salary. SSC Acting Chief Executive Ben Nangombe provided these details, highlighting the shared responsibility between employers and employees.
Minister Immanuel stressed that the SSC scheme provides support to families who lose breadwinners, helping with funeral arrangements and other related expenses.
