MTN Rwanda has launched "Yora Inoti," a new campaign under its MTN Xplo program, aiming to merge entertainment, knowledge, and rewards through mobile technology. The campaign, which will run for a year, will offer questions on various topics including music, general knowledge, film, art, history, and more. These questions will be available in both English and Kinyarwanda. A unique feature of Yora Inoti is that MTN customers can participate regardless of their phone type, as questions can be answered via SMS.
The campaign was announced by Somdev Sen, MTN Rwanda's Chief Customer and Technology Officer. He stated that Yora Inoti aims to provide customers with a new way to entertain themselves, learn, and win prizes. Sen emphasized MTN Rwanda's commitment to innovating in telecommunications to add value to customers' daily lives. He highlighted that Yora Inoti, part of MTN Xplo, reflects the company's goal of offering exciting and beneficial digital services.
To participate in Yora Inoti, customers can send a "WIN" text to 806 or visit the website https://yorainoti.mtn.co.rw. The service is open to both prepaid and postpaid MTN customers. New participants receive 10,000 points as a welcome bonus, and they can earn an additional 250 points daily if their registration is successfully renewed. Participants receive 10 questions daily, with points increasing based on their performance and engagement.
Customers can check their points by sending a "POINTS" text to 806 or by logging into their account on the Yora Inoti website. The service costs 200 Frw per day, though the first day is free. The Yora Inoti platform allows users to view their points, update their profile information, and practice how the games are played. However, points are only awarded for questions answered via SMS, not for those on the website.
MTN Rwanda stated that points earned through Yora Inoti will not expire or reset to zero, enabling participants to accumulate points throughout the campaign and move up the leaderboard. The campaign features various prize categories to reward frequent participants and those demonstrating knowledge. Weekly top performers will receive 200,000 Frw, while monthly winners will receive 1 million Frw.
At the end of every six-month cycle, the participant with the most points will win a grand prize of 15 million Frw. All prizes will be disbursed through the winners' Mobile Money (MoMo) accounts. Weekly winners will be announced on Wednesdays, monthly winners on the last Wednesday of the month, and the main prize winners at the end of each six-month cycle. Winners will be contacted the following day to notify them of their win.
To ensure fairness, participants can only win one prize per category during the campaign. MTN Rwanda has cautioned customers to be vigilant and avoid scams, especially during prize announcements and distributions. The company confirmed that it will only communicate with winners through its verified customer service number, 0784000000, and that its employees will never request money, call charges, passwords, or Mobile Money PINs from customers.
