The MTN Premier League 2026/27 season was officially launched on Wednesday at MTN Eswatini's Mahlalekhukhwini House in Ezulwini. Capital City giants Mbabane Highlanders will take on Green Mamba at 2 pm, followed by a match between Moneni Pirates and defending champions Nsingizini Hotspurs at 4 pm.

Polycarp Dlamini, Chairman of the Premier League Eswatini (PLE), expressed his excitement for the upcoming season. He appealed for vigorous marketing strategies to bring more spectators to the games. Dlamini emphasized that the total prize money of E7.5 million is a significant incentive for clubs to perform at their best. The champions will receive E1.185 million, a substantial increase from previous seasons.

Dlamini acknowledged the MTN FanBox innovation, which provides fans with opportunities to win prizes, including Best Dressed Fans. He encouraged supporters to make use of the platform and positioned the PLE as the perfect corporate partner. Dlamini emphasized the importance of a violent-free season, urging clubs to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for fans.

Jerry Soko, MTN Chief Executive Officer (CEO), also appealed for a season of enjoyment and sportsmanship. The launch event was attended by representatives from the grand opening teams, including Mbabane Highlanders, Green Mamba, Moneni Pirates, and defending champions Nsingizini Hotspurs. PLE Executive Committee member Sibusiso 'Scorpion' Nxumalo, Eswatini Football Association (EFA) CEO Frederick Mngomezulu, and PLE staff were also in attendance.

MTN's Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Meshack Maseko previously highlighted the benefits of the MTN FanBox, including trivia games and special youth bundles for 25-year-olds and below.
