Falcon Metal Resources Botswana (FMRB) has successfully listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), marking a significant milestone as the first 100% citizen-owned company to achieve this feat. This development is part of a capital-raising exercise aimed at expanding exploration across its mining licences in various mineral belts in Botswana. The listing was undertaken through its Australian partner, Jacaranda Natural Resources (JNR), with the collaboration expected to combine resources, enhance exploration, and develop tenements in both countries.
FMRB's listing on the ASX took place alongside other international commercial heavyweights, including Israel's Identifai Genetics and Australia's Innovaero Technologies. Both FMRB and JNR have strong credentials, prospecting in promising mineral districts and operating in jurisdictions ranked among the world's top ten for mining. According to the Fraser Institute Annual Survey of Mining Jurisdictions, both countries are highly rated for mining-policy factors such as political stability, quality of geological databases, and infrastructure.
FMRB is actively involved in Botswana's copper, gold, diamond, iron ore, and strategic minerals sectors. The company is focused on identifying, advancing, and creating value from high-potential mineral exploration opportunities. It has already demonstrated its project-generation capability through the origination and advancement of eight Botswana exploration assets. FMRB is now building its next-generation independent portfolio across Botswana's highly prospective copper, gold, diamond, and iron ore provinces.
Among FMRB's notable licensed tenements is PL 245/2025 on the Kalahari Copperbelt, which lies along the D'Kar–Ngwako Pan Formation contact, a key geological horizon associated with sediment-hosted copper-silver mineralisation. The tenement is within an active copper district, alongside the Cobre/BHP Kitlanya East and Khoemacau Zone 5 exploration and mining corridors. BHP's investment in Cobre's Kitlanya project and Sandfire's operating Motheo complex demonstrate the scale of ongoing exploration and development in the district.
FMRB is also undertaking geophysical and geochemical targeting across its PL 245/2025 licence. Its Moiyabana iron ore project, located on the PL 119/2025 tenement, covers 675.92 square kilometres in the Mahalapye–Shoshong iron province in the Central District. The company is targeting banded iron formation-hosted mineralisation within the Shoshong Formation and related Proterozoic successions. Current exploration work includes geological mapping, geophysics, sampling, drilling, and resource definition.
In the diamond sector, licence PL 181/2024 is among FMRB's flagship assets, located in the Orapa Kimberlite Field. The portfolio includes a kimberlite pipe covering more than 25 hectares, as well as other Boteti-Orapa targets. Historical exploration in 2006 recorded diamond recoveries from nearby kimberlites, and FMRB is applying modern geological, gravity, and magnetic modelling to identify and prioritise additional targets within the Orapa-Boteti system.
FMRB's operating model is built around project generation, disciplined exploration, staged value creation, and multiple commercial pathways. The company's Australian partner, JNR, also operates across several licensed sites, including the White Cockatoo project, which has strong copper, gold, and porphyry potential. With its listing on the ASX, FMRB is poised to leverage its partnerships and expand its exploration and development activities in Botswana and beyond.
