King Mohammed VI of Morocco has strongly condemned the repeated attacks by Houthi militias against Saudi Arabia, expressing solidarity with the Kingdom and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. The King emphasized that Saudi Arabia's security and stability, as well as that of the GCC countries, were inseparable from Morocco's security.
The Moroccan monarch reiterated his country's continued support for Saudi Arabia in confronting threats posed by terrorist and separatist militias and regional powers backing them. He warned that such actions undermine regional security and stability and threaten vital maritime routes important to the global economy and international maritime navigation. King Mohammed VI stressed Morocco's commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia and its Gulf allies in defence of what he described as right, legitimacy, and shared strategic interests.
King Mohammed VI argued that the continuation of such attacks constituted a violation of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions, including Resolution 2216 (2015) and Resolution 2722 (2024). He added that attacks on civilian areas, economic infrastructure, and holy sites also violate international humanitarian law and international conventions and customs.
