Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita has reaffirmed his country's commitment to working towards a solution that ensures the historical and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. He cited continued Israeli military aggression against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, settlement expansion in the West Bank, and rising settler violence, as well as policies aimed at Judaizing Jerusalem. In this context, Bourita emphasized that Morocco, under King Mohammed VI's leadership, is continuing its approach of combining political work and diplomatic efforts.
These efforts aim to preserve the legitimate rights of the Palestinians, along with practical work on the ground. Bourita highlighted projects on the ground supervised by the Bayt Mal Quds Al Sharif Agency, which is the executive arm of the Al Quds Committee, with the goal of supporting the people of Jerusalem and enhancing their steadfastness in the face of Judaization policies targeting the city's legal, historical, and demographic status.
Bourita also emphasized Morocco's belief in the importance of collective and multilateral action, stating that his country has "honestly engaged" in international initiatives aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region. He cited Morocco's recent joining of the Peace Council as reflecting a clear will to contribute positively and constructively to efforts to halt escalation, protect civilians, and create suitable conditions for resuming a serious and credible political process.
