Morocco has initiated two international tenders valued at a combined estimated MAD 1.52 billion ($152 million) to upgrade the Grand Stadium of Fez. The contracts are part of a broader rehabilitation program aimed at enhancing the stadium's technical and operational infrastructure to meet the requirements for major international sporting events. The project includes various components such as electrical, technical, safety, communications, air conditioning, and ventilation systems.
The first tender, AOOI/02/GSF/2026/ANEP, concerns high- and low-voltage electrical works and is estimated at MAD 1.291 billion. The works will cover electrical equipment and lighting networks, as well as fire detection and automatic fire suppression systems. The project also includes information and communications networks, audiovisual systems, electronic screens, sound systems, and television broadcasting infrastructure.
The second tender, AOOI/03/GSF/2026/ANEP, covers fluid-related works, including plumbing, fire protection, air conditioning, ventilation, and smoke extraction systems. Its estimated value stands at MAD 228.18 million. The provisional guarantee for the contract has been set at MAD 4 million, with bids scheduled to be opened on November 10 at 11 a.m.
The electrical and high- and low-voltage works are expected to take 18 months from the date the order to begin the works is issued. The fluid-related works are scheduled to take 15 months, while the projects will include a 24-month warranty period beginning from provisional acceptance. The opening of bids for the first contract is scheduled for November 10, 2026, at 10 a.m.
The two tenders are part of a wider rehabilitation program for the Grand Stadium of Fez. The budget allocated to the stadium's rehabilitation program for 2026 is estimated at MAD 2.79 billion. The project goes beyond architectural upgrades and spectator facilities, focusing on smart systems, safety, communications, television production, surveillance, and technical management.

The acceleration of work at the Fez stadium is part of a broader renovation program involving several Moroccan stadiums ahead of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which Morocco will co-host with Spain and Portugal.
