Moroccan politician Mohamed Chouki, leader of the National Rally of Independents (RNI) party, recently presented the achievements of the Aziz Akhannouch government during a meeting in the city of Tangier. Chouki emphasized that the government's performance should be evaluated based on numbers and data related to various sectors, rather than slogans. He highlighted several indicators that reflect the progress made over the past five years.
In the education sector, Chouki noted that the government has made it a priority, with plans to generalize the "schools of excellence" model in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region. Additionally, over 1,000 teachers have been hired in the region. Regarding employment, Chouki stated that over 2,000 new companies have been created in the region, contributing to job creation.
Chouki also discussed the government's social protection and healthcare initiatives. He mentioned that around 10 million Moroccans have benefited from health coverage without paying contributions. In the healthcare sector, Chouki reported that 36 large and medium-sized hospitals have been built nationwide, with 50 more under construction. Furthermore, over 1,400 health centers and clinics have been renovated.
The RNI leader touched on the government's social support programs, noting that millions of Moroccans have benefited from direct support. He also highlighted measures taken to support key sectors such as agriculture, transportation, and tourism. Chouki acknowledged that the government has not accomplished everything it set out to do but emphasized that significant progress has been made.
Chouki shared stories of individuals he met during his recent tours, including a mother in Jerada who wakes up at 5 am to prepare breakfast for her son to help him pursue his studies. He also mentioned young people in El Youssoufia who are searching for job opportunities and a retiree in Tan-Tan who hopes his son will find employment to avoid emigrating.
Chouki criticized those who claim to have only recently discovered the "deep Morocco," citing examples of regions such as Azrou, Missour, and Asa. He emphasized that his party has prioritized communication and proximity to citizens over the past few years. Looking ahead, Chouki outlined the RNI's electoral program, which focuses on improving living standards, creating opportunities, and promoting social and economic development.
The RNI's program, under the slogan "dignity and opportunities for all," includes commitments to raise the minimum wage to 5,000 dirhams and improve healthcare and education services. Chouki expressed confidence that the party's program will resonate with citizens and called on supporters to renew their trust in the party's candidates in the upcoming legislative elections.
