The 2025 Crowdfunding Barometer, unveiled at the 2nd edition of the Moroccan Impact Finance Forum (MIFF), reveals that crowdfunding in Morocco has enabled the organization of 731 campaigns, mobilizing 7.62 million dirhams (MDH) from 12,161 contributors. This data, compiled by HAPPY SMALA in collaboration with IDinsight, indicates a growing interest in this alternative financing method. The barometer analyzes the main trends in the use of crowdfunding for projects in Morocco through Moroccan and international platforms.
The Moroccan Impact Finance Forum, held on September 10, 2026, at the Technopark Casablanca, brought together entrepreneurs, investors, crowdfunding platforms, public institutions, and engaged organizations. The forum focused on how to better meet the financing needs of impact companies in Morocco. It highlighted the evolution of crowdfunding and the opportunities offered by the new Moroccan regulatory framework. The event also included a policy dialogue to co-construct recommendations for improving the 15.18 law on crowdfunding.
According to the barometer, campaigns have recorded an average of 16.6 contributors per campaign, with an average contribution of 627 dirhams and an average amount collected of 10,423 dirhams per campaign. Moroccan crowdfunding platforms have mobilized 3.15 MDH on their own, illustrating the gradual growth of the national crowdfunding ecosystem. The study also notes an improvement in campaign performance, with 35.5% of campaigns reaching at least 50% of their funding goal.
This success rate is a significant milestone, reflecting better appropriation of crowdfunding mechanisms by project leaders and increasing mobilization of contributor communities. The results confirm the interest of crowdfunding as a complementary financing lever for entrepreneurs, associations, citizen initiatives, and impact projects. In a context where diversification of funding sources is a strategic challenge for many actors, crowdfunding is gaining traction.
The barometer provides an in-depth analysis of the sector's evolution, studying collected volumes, financed project types, mobilized platforms, contributor behaviors, and campaign success factors. This edition also sheds light on emerging dynamics within the Moroccan crowdfunding ecosystem, particularly with the implementation of the 15.18 law and the entry into activity of the first approved platforms.
For the first time, the barometer integrates data from Moroccan crowdfunding platforms, including Kiwi Collecte and Akkan Crowdfunding. Their activity demonstrates the growth of a national ecosystem favored by the new regulatory framework. The 2025 edition also highlights the first crowdlending operation in Morocco under the 15.18 law, carried out by Wasit on Akkan Crowdfunding.
HAPPY SMALA, a Moroccan innovation laboratory, aims to structure impact investment ecosystems in Morocco and the MENA region. Through its activities, it contributes to strengthening the capacities of entrepreneurs and actors working towards a more inclusive and impactful economy. The barometer is part of the Impact Together program, implemented in partnership with Impact Europe and funded by the European Union.
