The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council, led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, is expected to expand its structure with the addition of more names. According to Director of Strategic Communication Phrank Shaibu, the recent announcement of the council is only one stage in the development of Atiku's campaign organisation. The campaign is still evolving, with ongoing consultations and further responsibilities to be assigned as the structure expands across the country.

Shaibu appealed to supporters who may have been disappointed by their absence from the initial list to remain patient, assuring them that Atiku recognises the contributions made by his supporters over the years. He emphasised that loyalty, sacrifice, and friendship are valued, and that years of commitment and sacrifice have not been forgotten. The campaign will continue to rely on a broad range of people, including party members, experienced political leaders, professionals, young Nigerians, and others willing to contribute to the campaign.

The campaign team has already announced several key appointments, including former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai as Deputy Chairman and Kashim Ibrahim-Imam as Chairman. Senator Austin Akobundu is serving as Director-General and Campaign Manager, while former Edo State Governor John Oyegun is Chairman of the Campaign Advisory Board. Other senior campaign advisers include former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, former Kwara State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, and former Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha.

The campaign's policy team is headed by Mohammed Hayatudeen, with Professor Mohammed Sagagi as Deputy Chairman. The team includes experts in various fields, such as the cost of living, food security and agriculture, security, energy and power, jobs, industrialisation, manufacturing, small and medium-sized enterprises, education, healthcare, infrastructure, housing, public finance, governance, technology, social protection, natural resources, environment, and human capital development.

The campaign management structure covers areas including administration, operations, media and communications, contact and mobilisation, diversity and support groups, and technical and systems. Key appointments include Dele Momodu as Deputy Director-General of Media and Communications, Dino Melaye as head of Contact and Mobilisation, and Kola Ologbondiyan as Director of Media and Publicity.

Shaibu said the campaign's structure would continue to expand as the ADC builds its national organisation ahead of the election. He described the campaign as a people-driven national organisation, with room for more Nigerians to participate as its structures develop. The campaign aims to bring together Nigerians with experience and expertise to address the country's interconnected challenges.

Atiku, the ADC presidential candidate, is running alongside former Rivers State Governor and former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi as the party's vice-presidential candidate. The campaign is strengthening its policy team to develop practical and implementable policy responses to improve the everyday lives of Nigerians. With its expanding structure, the campaign is expected to grow organically, drawing strength from Nigerians who share the desire to build a better country.
