Mishaal Seth, a Nakuru-based businessman and philanthropist, has been recognized as the Philanthropist of the Year at the Pacesetters International Awards (PIA). This award comes less than two weeks after President William Ruto acknowledged Seth's charitable work during the Mashujaa Day celebrations. The PIA ceremony was held at the Weston Hotel in Nairobi, bringing together leaders from various sectors to honor individuals and institutions making significant contributions to Africa's socio-economic development.

Seth's philanthropic efforts have focused on providing free medical camps, specialized treatment clinics, vaccination drives, and food distribution programs for vulnerable families in Nakuru. He has worked alongside his family, the Hindu Council of Nakuru, and other well-wishers to support low-income communities in areas such as Kanyon, Manyani, and Kisulisuli estates. His initiatives have included free meals and medical outreach programs, significantly improving access to healthcare and easing the suffering of hundreds of residents in Nakuru City.

The Pacesetters International Awards, organized by Jubilant Steward of Africa (JSA), aim to recognize excellence in various sectors, including corporate leadership, social responsibility, education, and healthcare. JSA Executive Director Jared Oundo emphasized that the awards celebrate innovation, quality service, job creation, and positive social impact. He highlighted that recognizing excellence is crucial for strengthening African institutions and accelerating sustainable development.

Unlike conventional awards that focus primarily on financial performance, the PIA recognizes organizations and individuals based on their economic and social impact. Oundo explained that the selection process involves a public vote, benchmarking, and a panel of judges. The program attracts organizations from across sub-Saharan Africa and beyond, with awards spanning several categories.

Seth's community initiatives have included specialized medical clinics targeting eye conditions, bone-related ailments, and non-communicable diseases such as arthritis, diabetes, and hypertension. His work has not only improved access to healthcare but also restored dignity and eased the suffering of vulnerable families. The recognition of Seth's philanthropic efforts underscores the importance of community service and social responsibility.

Other notable award recipients at the PIA included Comfort Homes CEO Dr. Hezekiah Kariuki, who received the CEO and Entrepreneur of the Year award, and Kasarani Group of Schools Chief Principal Dr. Steven Okuta, who was named Senior School Principal of the Year. Gilgil MP Martha Wangari was also recognized for her contribution to community philanthropy and grassroots social impact.

The PIA awards ceremony brought together leaders from government, business, academia, diplomacy, and the development sector. The recognition of individuals and institutions making outstanding contributions to Africa's socio-economic development highlights the importance of collaboration and collective effort in driving positive change. Mishaal Seth's Philanthropist of the Year award serves as a testament to the impact of his community-focused initiatives.
