South African racing driver Michael Stephen showcased his exceptional skills in wet conditions at Aldo Scribante Raceway, securing a win and a second-place finish in the South African Endurance Series. The series introduced an experimental format featuring two 70-minute races with mandatory three-minute pit stops, replacing the traditional five-hour endurance event. Stephen's performance, partnered with Silvio Scribante, demonstrated his expertise in navigating the challenging circuit.

The SA Endurance Series experimented with a new format, consisting of two 70-minute races with a compulsory three-minute pit stop. This change required teams to carefully manage their strategy, including driver changes, tyres, fuel, and permitted adjustments, all within the allotted time. The unpredictable conditions at Aldo Scribante made strategy and driver skill equally important as speed, as teams had to adapt to the slippery and challenging circuit.

In the first race, Stephen shared the Scuderia Scribante Lamborghini Huracan with Silvio Scribante, finishing second behind Stuart White in the Into Africa Racing Lamborghini Huracan. The result provided a strong foundation for the second race, but the deteriorating weather conditions made the outcome uncertain. Stephen started from pole position in the second race, but White's challenge was far from over, despite a brake problem forcing him to start from the pit lane.

Stuart White launched a remarkable charge from the pit lane, overtaking his way into second place within 15 minutes. As the rain intensified, White closed in on Stephen, setting the stage for a thrilling conclusion. Stephen maintained perfect control of the Lamborghini, extracting every ounce of grip while resisting White's relentless pressure. The Into Africa Racing Lamborghini stayed within striking distance, but Stephen's experience and car control proved decisive.

The battle between Stephen and White provided a highlight of the weekend, with White making spectacular late-braking manoeuvres and bold lunges. However, Stephen remained calm, defending his advantage to the chequered flag. His drive combined speed, patience, and precision, showcasing the qualities required for racing at the highest level in challenging conditions.

In the motorcycle category, local favourite Zander Taljaard swept both races in round four, winning in the Superbike category. However, his fortunes changed dramatically in round five, as he crashed out while leading due to the slick circuit. The weather conditions proved unforgiving for many riders, with some electing to withdraw from the competition.

The overall results for rounds four and five were as follows: Round 4 - 1 Into Africa Racing, Stuart White; 2 Scuderia Scribante, Silvio Scribante and Michael Stephen; 3 Rico Barlow Racing, Barend Pretorius and Charl Visser. Round 5 - 1 Scuderia Scribante, Michael Stephen; 2 Into Africa Racing, Stuart White; 3 Rico Barlow Racing, Barend Pretorius and Charl Visser.
