The International Conference "Parties and New Society" held in Mexico City, Mexico, has adopted a resolution supporting the struggle of the Sahrawi people for self-determination and independence, in accordance with international law and UN resolutions. The conference, organized by the Mexican Workers' Party, concluded its 30th session by endorsing a six-point resolution on Western Sahara. The resolution emphasizes the Sahrawi people's right to freely determine their own destiny.

The resolution condemns violations of international law and human rights in Western Sahara, as well as the exploitation of the territory's natural resources. It also expresses solidarity with Sahrawi political prisoners on hunger strike and demands their release. According to the Sahrawi News Agency (SPS), the resolution calls on the UN to intensify efforts to organize a self-determination referendum and rejects any imposed solution that would perpetuate the colonial situation.

The resolution also urges parties, governments, and progressive forces to enhance international solidarity with the Sahrawi people. It reaffirms support for the Polisario Front, the sole legitimate representative of the Sahrawi people, and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic. The resolution stresses that completing the decolonization process in Western Sahara remains a key objective.

The adoption of the resolution is seen as a reaffirmation of the international community's commitment to the Sahrawi cause. It is also viewed as a call to action to increase political and diplomatic pressure to respect the Sahrawi people's national rights and enable them to exercise their right to self-determination and independence.

In his closing speech, Sahrawi Foreign Minister Mohamed Yslim Bisht emphasized the need for progressive forces to enhance their political work in defense of peoples' right to self-determination and the eradication of colonialism. He stressed that peoples' freedom is not a gift but a recognized right, and that rights become a reality only with a political will to defend them.

Bisht condemned human rights abuses in occupied Western Sahara, highlighting the situation of Sahrawi political prisoners on hunger strike and the exploitation of natural resources by Moroccan occupation forces. He called for enhanced coordination between parties, social movements, and solidarity organizations to translate principles of justice, freedom, and decolonization into concrete actions.

The conference brought together 269 foreign delegates representing organizations and parties from 36 countries, alongside the Polisario Front. The Sahrawi Foreign Minister's participation and speech underscored the significance of international support for the Sahrawi people's struggle.
