Media in Cooperation and Transition (MiCT), a non-profit organisation providing expert media services, is seeking a Community Manager to be based in Kampala, Uganda. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the organisation's community of up to 20 Fellows in the country. MiCT operates in complex and challenging contexts, delivering services with precision and agility. The organisation's work involves supporting media development projects.

The Community Manager will undertake various responsibilities, including coordinating contractual engagements with Fellows, managing stipend transfers, and providing logistical and technical relocation support as needed. The role also involves creating and managing safety measures for Journalists and Media Makers, organising relocations, securing accommodations, and co-working spaces. Additionally, the Community Manager will be responsible for procurement and contracting of support offers.

The ideal candidate for the position should have proven experience in project management, particularly in media development projects. They should also have established connections within the regional media landscape and community, as well as strong community management skills. A large network of service providers, particularly those providing integration and legal support, is also required. Understanding of the media and immigration landscapes in Uganda is essential.

The Community Manager will report to MiCT's Project Manager and Project Officer, conducting regular check-ins with them. The role involves organising at least one community meet-up, including alumni Fellows. The successful candidate will be based in Uganda and have a bachelor's degree. They should be able to work for 8 hours a day and have a daily rate in EUR, including VAT.
