The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the company's Health, Safety, Environment, and Security (HSES) Management System, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations. The Senior HSES Specialist will play a critical role in driving a common and consistent risk-based HSES culture within the organization. This will involve developing and implementing HSES plans, procedures, and instructions, as well as facilitating and participating in risk assessments and maintaining up-to-date risk registries. The ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma in a HSES-related field, 6 years of experience in the energy industry, and advanced understanding of local and international HSES laws, codes, and regulations.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for monitoring HSES statistics, identifying trends, and preparing action plans to promote continual improvement. They will work closely with the project management team and subcontractors to develop suitable hazard control interventions and review client HSES documentation as required. Additionally, they will establish and manage tangible Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) relevant to their area of responsibility.

McDermott requires the Senior HSES Specialist to be trained and experienced in ISO standards lead auditing (9001, 14001, or 45001). The candidate should also possess excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken, and be computer literate in Microsoft programs such as Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project. The ability to work as a team member and act as a team leader is also essential.

The Senior HSES Specialist will be expected to lead and assist with incident investigations, prepare reports, and engage in HSES client interface where necessary. They will also contribute to the production of HSES information, training, education, and awareness material for the project and business line. The role involves maintaining a high standard of safe working practice, quality, and productivity, and ensuring compliance with the company's code of business conduct.
