Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has presented his administration's scorecard, highlighting key achievements in improved security, infrastructure renewal, and investments in education and healthcare. Since assuming office in May 2023, Mbah stated that the state has moved from a period of insecurity and economic disruption to one of renewed economic activity and growing investment interest. The governor presented his scorecard at the Godfrey Okoye University in Enugu.

One of the major achievements of Mbah's administration is the restoration of normal economic activities on Mondays, following years of sit-at-home restrictions that crippled businesses and disrupted education. The restrictions had deprived residents of their daily earnings, with women selling food in markets losing income as customers stayed at home. Mbah noted that the restoration of normal activities has been a crucial foundation for the state's economic recovery.

The governor highlighted the economic consequences of the sit-at-home restrictions, stating that people who depended on their daily earnings had to surrender an entire day's income. He added that today, people are going about their business with a freedom that had been denied to them for far too long. A trader can now plan a full working week, children can attend school, and businesses can receive customers and keep their employees working.

Mbah's administration has undertaken substantial road development, introducing a more organized transport system, including new buses and terminals, to improve connectivity and make movement across the state safer and more dependable. The infrastructure program is designed to unlock economic opportunities for residents, going beyond just constructing kilometers of roads.

The governor explained that the administration's infrastructure program focuses on the experiences of residents, who know the road that used to damage their vehicles or the difficulty of getting produce from a farm to a market. These experiences, he said, are what matter. The program aims to address these challenges and improve the overall quality of life for residents.

In the aviation sector, Enugu has seen significant growth, with the number of incoming flights increasing from barely two daily when Mbah assumed office to more than 15 in the administration's recent review. The governor stated that this change reflects the renewed interest in the state and its growing investment potential.

Mbah emphasized that his administration is committed to continuing the work ahead, with a focus on building on the progress made so far. He expressed his readiness to work with the people of Enugu to achieve further growth and development, citing the importance of collaboration and partnership in achieving the state's goals.
