The inauguration ceremony, held on September 17, was attended by Minister of Higher Education Kaviraj Sukon, Indian High Commissioner to Mauritius Anurag Srivastava, and University of Mauritius Vice-Chancellor Professor Kavi Kumar Khedo. The initiative aims to bring together knowledge related to Ayurveda in a university setting and provide students with a better understanding of the discipline.

The Ayurveda Information Corner is designed to raise awareness among young people about the possibilities of training and career opportunities in traditional medicine. According to Dr. Pooja Sabharwal, who coordinates the initiative, the information corner will serve as a platform to showcase the available training and career options at the University of Mauritius.
