In Mauritius, the Terra Foundation, L'Aventure du Sucre, and Grays have partnered with Link to Life to launch the Pink October Month, a campaign aimed at promoting breast cancer awareness and early detection. The launch event took place on October 1, 2026, at Le Fangourin restaurant. This initiative brings together four organizations to encourage women to take proactive steps in monitoring their health.

The partnership focuses on providing support for women in need, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. In 2024, 679 women in Mauritius were diagnosed with breast cancer. Through this collaboration, the organizations aim to make a positive impact on the lives of these women. The Terra Foundation has announced that it will finance breast cancer screenings for 30 women from the North who are supported by the NGOs Caritas Lakaz Lespwar Solitude and Safire.

As part of the Pink October celebrations, L'Aventure du Sucre organized a solidarity workshop on flow arts, specifically "poi," for 12 beneficiaries from the North on September 30, 2026, at the museum. The workshop was led by artist Hafiza Jepaul. The poi discipline combines movement, coordination, and artistic expression. The creations were presented with music on October 1, during the Pink October Month launch event, allowing the participants to share their work with partners and guests.

Grays, a new partner in this initiative, contributed to the event by offering a makeup retouching session for around 30 beneficiaries on October 1, 2026. Professional makeup artists provided personalized advice and care, promoting a sense of well-being among the participants. Grays also made its new 1838 Society room available for the event and arranged transportation for the beneficiaries.

A highlight of the event was the Pink Month Promise, where participants and guests were invited to make a promise to take action for their own well-being or that of a loved one. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of a check to finance 30 screenings, with 15 screenings for beneficiaries from Caritas Lakaz Lespwar Solitude and 15 for beneficiaries from Safire. The Terra Foundation also distributed poi to other northern beneficiaries.

Marie Annick Auguste, CSR Manager of the Terra Foundation, emphasized that the organization's goal is to provide comprehensive care that eliminates access barriers to healthcare. Noella Leste, vice-president of Link to Life, highlighted the importance of early detection in saving lives. Louis Denis Koenig, president of the Terra Foundation's CSR Committee, stressed that the collaboration allows for direct and significant support for women in need, combining medical prevention and human accompaniment.

The partnership between the Terra Foundation, L'Aventure du Sucre, Grays, and Link to Life demonstrates a commitment to social responsibility and community well-being. This initiative not only supports a crucial public health cause but also promotes values of respect, dignity, self-esteem, and community solidarity. By working together, these organizations aim to make a lasting impact on the lives of women in Mauritius.
