Mauritanian Deputy Khadijah Abdoulahi Wane has stated that Mauritania is progressing towards establishing a state based on institutions and law. This will ensure that every citizen finds their place in the country, regardless of social considerations. She made these remarks during an interview with the Mauritanian Information Agency, responding to a question posed by President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani during his visit to the Adrar region.
Deputy Abdoulahi Wane emphasized that the country is heading towards more strict application of laws, improvement of the education system, and promotion of citizenship and national belonging values. She highlighted that the "Republican School" initiative is a unique project that can bring together Mauritanians by providing education for all within a single school framework, promoting societal unity and equal opportunities.
The Deputy noted that continuing on this path, combined with the efforts of various components of society, will help achieve announced ambitions and build a better country with a more prosperous future. She mentioned that the results of these efforts may not be immediately visible to the current generation but will benefit future generations.
In the area of economic and social development, Deputy Abdoulahi Wane explained that efforts include working towards greater well-being, particularly in agriculture and vocational training. She stated that the reclamation of agricultural land nationwide aims to boost national production and support food security, ultimately achieving greater self-sufficiency in food.
Regarding vocational training, Deputy Abdoulahi Wane pointed out that increasing the capacity of vocational training institutions aims to enable Mauritanian youth to acquire skills and professions, allowing them to rely on their abilities and open up broader opportunities for integration into the job market.
Deputy Abdoulahi Wane stressed that the public sector's ability to absorb all youth is limited, making the private sector a crucial partner in providing job opportunities and embracing national talents and skills. She emphasized that Mauritania today needs the energy and skills of its youth more than ever.
Concluding her remarks, Deputy Khadijah Abdoulahi Wane stated that, based on the current approach of the government and the President, Mauritania is moving towards building a real state with entrenched justice, where every citizen sees their place and finds opportunities to contribute to nation-building.
