On October 9, 2026, Tazir launched the unified digital platform "SAND", aimed at facilitating citizens' access to social assistance and rights, and simplifying procedures for accessing services provided to targeted groups. The platform's launch is an extension of Tazir's efforts to improve the lives of Mauritanian citizens.

The platform started operating with a component specific to the education sector, supporting the process of covering transportation costs for 11,656 students from families registered in the national social register. This move is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of these students and their families.

The "SAND" platform allows beneficiaries to verify their eligibility and complete procedures to obtain transportation cards through an electronic verification system that uses facial recognition technology. This technology will help speed up procedures and facilitate access to services, making it easier for citizens to benefit from social assistance programs.

The platform aims to collect various services and programs of the General Delegation in a unified digital portal, allowing beneficiary families to access them through a single account. This will enhance transparency and accuracy in targeting those who are most in need, and enable them to track the progress of their assistance.

The launch of "SAND" is an extension of the experience of the digital "Aoun" process, which benefited over 350,000 families. Tazir continues to work on developing the remaining components of the platform, with plans to launch them gradually. The development of the platform is a significant step towards improving the efficiency of social assistance programs in Mauritania.

The launch event featured a practical demonstration of the platform's usage stages and identity verification mechanisms, with the participation of two students. The General Delegate also visited the contact center to assess the readiness of the teams responsible for supporting beneficiaries and responding to their inquiries, ensuring a smooth rollout of the platform.

The introduction of the "SAND" platform is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of Mauritanian citizens, particularly those who are most vulnerable. By providing a unified digital platform for accessing social assistance and rights, the government aims to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its social programs, and enhance the well-being of its citizens.
