Member of Parliament for Manso Nkwanta, Tweneboah Kodua Fokuo, has cut sod for the construction of modern football pitches in the Gyeninso and Bontefufuo communities of the Amansie West District in the Ashanti Region. This project is part of Fokuo's efforts to promote sports and provide opportunities for young people to develop their football talents. The initiative aims to encourage active participation in sports and identify and nurture football talents in the area.

The modern sporting facilities are expected to provide a conducive environment for the youth to develop their talents, while also encouraging them to refrain from drug abuse. Fokuo cautioned that drug abuse could negatively impact their health, education, and future prospects. He expressed confidence that the project would have a positive impact on the community and help to promote sports development in the area.

The project is being undertaken by Madreperla Essential Limited, with Mr. Daniel Sarpong as the Project Manager. Sarpong explained that the construction of the football pitches is intended to provide suitable sporting facilities for the beneficiary communities. He appealed to residents to cooperate with the contractors and support the project to ensure its timely and successful completion.

The project is expected to be completed within four to six months, subject to the necessary support and cooperation from the communities. Mr. Sarpong expressed optimism that the project would be completed on schedule and meet the needs of the community. The project is seen as a significant development for the community, which has been lacking in modern sporting facilities.

Nana Appiah Kubi II, the Chief of Gyeninso, commended Mr. Fokuo for initiating the project, saying it would contribute to the development of young talents in the area. He noted that the provision of sporting facilities would provide the youth with a better environment to develop their football skills and engage in productive activities.

During the ceremony, Nana Appiah Kubi II also appealed to delegates in the constituency to reconsider the practice of changing Members of Parliament after only one term. He argued that giving MPs sufficient time in office could enable them to implement and complete development projects initiated for their constituents. This would ensure that projects like the football pitches are completed and have a lasting impact on the community.

The project is one of the initiatives by the MP to promote sports and development in the constituency. The modern football pitches are expected to be a hub for sports development in the area, providing opportunities for young people to develop their talents and engage in productive activities. The project is seen as a significant step towards promoting sports development in the Amansie West District.
