The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the firm's internal HR functions while also supporting the delivery of human resources consulting services to clients. The Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for managing recruitment and selection processes for the firm and its clients. This will include developing job descriptions, employment contracts, HR policies, and procedures. The successful candidate will also maintain accurate and confidential employee records, support employee onboarding, induction, training, and development, and coordinate performance management and appraisal processes.
In addition to managing internal HR functions, the Human Resources Specialist will provide guidance on employee relations, disciplinary, and grievance matters. The role will also involve supporting clients in developing and implementing HR policies and systems, conducting HR reviews, assessments, and workforce analysis for clients, and assisting with organisational structure, job evaluation, and manpower planning assignments.
The ideal candidate for the position will have a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field. Professional membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resources Management (ZIHRM) will be an advantage. The successful candidate will also have a minimum of 3 years' experience in Human Resources, preferably with exposure to a consultancy or professional services environment.
Practical knowledge of Zambian labour laws and HR practices is essential for this role, as well as experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and HR policy development. Experience preparing professional reports, proposals, and client presentations will also be an advantage. Strong Microsoft Office skills are required for the position.
