The Initiative Paysan+ program was recently launched in Mali, bringing together various stakeholders in the agricultural sector. The program is an initiative of the Association of Young People for Cotton Valorization (AJVC) and has three main components: the Cotton Investment Forum (FIFC), the 9th Pan-African Cotton Festival (FEPAC 9), and the National Harvest Day. The program aims to make Malian agriculture a driver of economic change, social development, and increased GDP.

The program was launched in the presence of several high-ranking officials, including the Vice-President of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mali (CNPM), Mme Cissé Djitta Dem, and the President of the AJVC, Abderahmane Sy. The program has been in development for over ten years and has the support of the Spirit Communication Agency. It brings together all stakeholders who share a common vision of developing Malian agriculture.

According to Abderahmane Sy, the coordinator of the program, Initiative Paysan+ is a platform that allows for the accompaniment of producers in their activities. The program is financed by the farmers themselves, who have purchased fertilizers as part of the pre-campaign. This year, 200 young agricultural entrepreneurs will be trained in partnership with the Ministry of Vocational Training.

Mme Cissé Djitta Dem, Vice-President of the CNPM, emphasized that the private sector must engage with farmers to achieve a more productive and food-sufficient Mali. She added that the CNPM has provided technical and strategic support to the Initiative Paysan+ from the outset. Sidi Dagnoko, Director of the Spirit Communication Agency, stressed that the agricultural sector requires collective involvement to address strategic issues such as job creation and poverty reduction.

The Minister of State, Minister of Reconciliation, Peace, and National Cohesion, General Wagué, described the Initiative Paysan+ as original and emphasized the importance of creating conditions for agricultural development in rural areas. He added that the Ministry will play a role in understanding the program and financing certain development activities.

The Initiative Paysan+ program aims to support farmers and promote economic growth in Mali's agricultural sector. With the support of various stakeholders, including the private sector and government agencies, the program hopes to make a positive impact on the country's agricultural industry.

The launch of the Initiative Paysan+ program is a significant step towards developing Mali's agricultural sector. With its focus on supporting farmers and promoting economic growth, the program has the potential to make a lasting impact on the country's economy and food security.
