The Mécanisme africain d’évaluation par les pairs (MAEP) in Mali is taking steps to enhance public and citizen understanding of the country's Vision 2063 and Stratégie nationale pour l’émergence et le développement durable (SNEDD). According to Mossa Ag Attaher, Minister of Malians living abroad and African integration, the goal is to make these frameworks guiding principles for public action and citizen engagement.
The Vision 2063, also known as "Mali Kura Ɲɛtaasira Ka Bɛn San 2063 Ma," serves as a national transformation roadmap, requiring profound changes in governance, public action, and citizen mobilization. As the national focal point for MAEP, Ag Attaher emphasized the importance of this vision in guiding Mali's development trajectory. The SNEDD 2024-2033 is the first decade-long phase of implementing Vision 2063, focusing on structural reforms, macroeconomic stability, and inclusive growth.
The SNEDD aims to support structural reforms, consolidate macroeconomic stability, and promote strong, inclusive growth that creates jobs. To achieve these objectives, Ag Attaher called for the establishment of prospective governance, steering mechanisms, and effective involvement of stakeholders in governance and monitoring-evaluation. This will ensure that the vision and strategy are effectively implemented and monitored.
Souleymane Coulibaly, President of the National Governance Commission of MAEP, assured that his institution will support the authorities in popularizing the Vision. The goal is to make it a well-known, understood, and shared reference, serving as a framework for the country's transformation. This effort is part of the national MAEP process and its 2025-2030 Action Plan.
The Vision "Mali Kura Ɲɛtaasira Ka Bɛn San 2063 Ma" documents were adopted by the Council of Ministers on December 27, 2024. This vision sets out Mali's development orientations up to 2063, while the SNEDD covers the period 2024-2033. An atelier was organized at the Alioune Blondin Bèye Peacekeeping School in Bamako to promote these frameworks.
The atelier aimed to vulgarize the Vision and SNEDD, ensuring that they are understood and owned by all stakeholders. This effort is crucial for the successful implementation of these frameworks, which are expected to drive Mali's development and transformation. The MAEP is committed to supporting the authorities in this endeavor.
The MAEP's efforts to popularize the Vision 2063 and SNEDD reflect the organization's commitment to promoting good governance and sustainable development in Mali. By engaging citizens and stakeholders in the implementation of these frameworks, the MAEP aims to contribute to the country's long-term growth and stability.
