Oyo State Governor and presidential candidate of the Alliance People’s Movement (APM), Seyi Makinde, has called on President Bola Tinubu to release the pricing template for petroleum products. This, he said, would enable Nigerians to understand how prices are determined. Makinde made the call during the APM North-East town hall meeting in Yola, where party stakeholders and candidates strategized ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Makinde accused the Tinubu administration of failing to deliver on its promises, stating that its policies had not significantly improved the country’s situation. Despite claims that it had solutions to Nigeria’s challenges, the administration’s initiatives on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), electric vehicles, the naira-for-crude policy, insecurity, and poverty reduction had failed to produce the desired results.

The APM presidential candidate promised to address the country’s challenges with sincerity if elected. He added that his administration would listen to Nigerians and involve them in finding solutions to the nation’s problems. Makinde also promised to run a transitional government of national unity, giving Nigerians from the six geopolitical zones the opportunity to contribute to the country’s development.

Makinde emphasized the need for transparency, saying, “Give us your pricing templates so that we can make our inputs as Nigerians, because government is for everyone, not only those in the corridor of power.” He urged Nigerians to support the APM and its candidates in the 2027 elections, promising that the party would reset the country through policies and programmes aimed at improving governance.

The party’s national leader and Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, commended members and stakeholders for their support and cooperation in welcoming Makinde to the North-East. Mohammed described the APM as a credible political platform capable of addressing Nigeria’s challenges and urged Nigerians to support the party.

Speaking on behalf of the party’s governorship candidates in the zone, the Adamawa State candidate, Abdulrahaman Bashir Haske, said the candidates are working towards securing victory for the party in 2027. He urged party leaders, members, and stakeholders to intensify campaigns across their states, local government areas, wards, and polling units.

The APM is positioning itself as a viable alternative to the ruling party, with Makinde and Mohammed leading the charge. The party’s plans for a transitional government of national unity and its commitment to addressing Nigeria’s challenges will likely be key issues in the 2027 elections.
