Mael Anasthasie Mengue has been reconducted as Director of Communication for the 5th edition of the African Solutions Week (SAS), scheduled to take place in Martinique, Paris, and Africa in 2027. This decision was made by Notre Voix, the initiator of SAS, to acknowledge her commitment and involvement in the development of the initiative. Mengue's new role will involve making the SAS shine internationally and accelerating its major media, journalistic, educational, and editorial projects.

The SAS 2027 edition aims to go beyond a simple annual event and become an international platform for content production, training, knowledge transmission, and promotion of solution journalism. Mengue's responsibilities will include strengthening partnerships with African and international media, developing and consolidating relationships with various media outlets, and forming a network of media partners to support SAS.

Mengue will also focus on coordinating journalist training in solution journalism, contributing to the mobilization of African and international journalists around training programs. The goal is to document not only problems but also solutions, their functioning, results, limits, and development possibilities. This approach aims to change the narrative on Africa, the Caribbean, and their diasporas by highlighting women, men, innovations, and initiatives that provide concrete responses to societal challenges.

Another key aspect of Mengue's role will be to reinforce the international newsroom for solution journalism, in partnership with the École Publique de Journalisme de Tours (EPJT). This collaboration aims to develop a newsroom dedicated to solution journalism, fact-checking, and combating disinformation. The newsroom will produce rigorous, fact-based content on initiatives that drive societal progress.

Mengue will also be responsible for coordinating and animating the "Afrique des Solutions, Le Mag" program, which focuses on innovations, impact initiatives, inspiring stories, and transformations in Africa and its diasporas. This program aims to discover, transmit, and promote solutions.

The deployment of the Pan-African School of Solution Journalism (EPJS-Afrique) is another project that Mengue will contribute to. This school, with its specialized media schools, aims to train a new generation of media professionals, strengthen journalistic skills on the continent, and build a Pan-African ecosystem for information production and dissemination.

The African Solutions Week (SAS) is an initiative that aims to change the narrative on Africa, the Caribbean, and their diasporas. With Mael Anasthasie Mengue at the helm of communication, SAS 2027 is expected to make significant strides in promoting solution journalism, strengthening media partnerships, and developing educational projects.
