The Mary Louise Simpkins Memorial Golf Club in Namulonge, Uganda, is set to host the third edition of the Home Coming Golf tournament on Friday, October 9. The tournament, which brings together men's and ladies' golfers who started their careers at the 9-hole course, has a green theme this year. The organizers have decided to use wooden tees instead of plastic ones to promote environmental sustainability. This initiative is part of their efforts to keep the environment free from plastics.

The tournament director, Kenneth Tumusiime, announced the green theme at the launch, emphasizing the importance of reducing plastic use. The club's chairman, Herbert Kamuntu, stated that the tournament aims to attract old boys and girls of Namulonge to celebrate the heritage of the club and update members on the development plans of the club. The club has plans to upgrade the course to 18 holes, with 40 acres available for development.

The tournament has attracted close to 200 golfers, and the organizers have staked prizes for the first two positions, including a Suzuki Across and a Yamaha Bike. For the first time, there is a prize for any golfer who hits an ace on the course, which includes a Suzuki Across Hybrid and a Yamaha Bike. The prizes are provided by Cfao Mobility and Afrisafe Insurance Brokers.

According to Howard Wodomal, CFAO Mobility Commercial Manager, the company wants to create experiences around this homecoming event by providing a Suzuki Across Hybrid, which aligns with their vision of supporting environmentally friendly solutions. The tournament is sponsored by CFAO Mobility, Afrisafe Insurance Brokers, Castle Lite, and Kachain Solutions.
