The Libyan Football Federation has increased financial rewards for referees and match observers in the country's top league, "Dourina", for the 2026-2027 season. This move comes as the federation issued decision number 133 of 2026. The new rates, effective immediately, aim to support local referees and enhance the competition's integrity.

According to the new decision, referees and observers in the Libyan Premier League will receive higher payments. A referee in a regular match will now receive 1,500 Libyan dinars. Assistant referees will get 1,125 dinars each, while the fourth referee and match observers will receive 750 dinars each. These changes reflect the federation's efforts to improve refereeing standards.

The new rates for the league's final match are even higher. The referee will receive 2,250 dinars, with assistant referees getting 2,100 dinars each. The fourth referee and match observer will get 1,500 and 1,000 dinars, respectively. This boost in payments is expected to attract more qualified officials to the sport.

In addition to the match fees, referees and observers will also receive allowances for travel, accommodation, and meals. For trips exceeding 50 kilometers, they will get 500 dirhams per kilometer. Daily allowances for accommodation and meals are set at 150 dinars. These extra benefits aim to cover the costs associated with officiating in different parts of the country.

The Libyan Football Federation will directly pay the new fees to the clubs, which will then disburse the funds to referees and observers before each match. Clubs will, however, cover travel, accommodation, and meal expenses out of their own budgets. This new system is designed to streamline payments and ensure timely compensation for referees and observers.

The decision to raise fees and provide additional allowances underscores the federation's commitment to supporting referees and enhancing the professionalism of Libyan football. By investing in its officials, the federation aims to improve the overall quality of the league and promote fair play.

The Libyan Premier League, "Dourina", is set to start on October 14, 2026. The competition will feature top clubs from across the country, including Al-Ahli Tripoli, Al-Ahli Benghazi, and Al-Nasr. With the new refereeing fees and allowances in place, the league is expected to attract more attention from fans and sponsors alike.
