A Port Harcourt-based legal practitioner and human rights activist, Mr Princewill Dike, has commended Chief Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), for his organisational capacity and ability to mobilise massive support for political causes. Mr Dike made this observation at the unveiling of the Rainbow Coalition candidates for the 2027 general elections at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Port Harcourt. The event drew a large crowd, demonstrating Chief Wike's political strength and influence.

According to Mr Dike, the turnout at the event sent a clear message to those doubting the level of support enjoyed by President Bola Tinubu in Rivers State. The crowd was an indication that the President has substantial political backing in the state, contrary to claims by critics of Chief Wike's political influence. The human rights activist noted that the turnout was remarkable, demonstrating Chief Wike's mobilisation capacity and his political associates.

Mr Dike attributed the success of the gathering to effective planning and the commitment of supporters who turned out in large numbers to identify with the political movement. He described Chief Wike as a political pace-setter, maintaining that his political achievements and mobilisation records would be difficult for opponents to surpass. The event was a demonstration of Chief Wike's reputation as a formidable political figure with strong organisational skills and grassroots connections.

The Rainbow Coalition candidates' unveiling was a significant event, showcasing Chief Wike's ability to bring people together and mobilise support for a political cause. The gathering was peaceful, with no reported casualties, according to Mr Dike. The successful outing has raised expectations for the proposed presidential campaign rally of President Tinubu in Port Harcourt, scheduled for November 7, 2026.

Chief Wike has announced that the proposed campaign rally of President Tinubu in Port Harcourt will hold at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium. Mr Dike expressed confidence that the crowd witnessed at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium could be replicated at the proposed presidential campaign rally, predicting that the venue would be filled to capacity. He expressed hope that the anticipated crowd would be managed effectively to prevent overcrowding and ensure public safety.

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has charged traditional rulers in the state to maintain neutrality, ensure fairness, and uphold peace in their domains as the country prepares for the 2027 general elections. The governor gave the charge while declaring open the 126th, 127th, and 128th Combined Quarterly Meeting of the Rivers State Traditional Rulers Council, in Port Harcourt.

The governor urged traditional rulers to abide by the oath and constitution they swore to before ascending their respective stools, in the interest of stability and progress of the state. He also enjoined them to set aside individual sentiments and place the interest of Rivers State above personal considerations.
