The Lagos State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to streamlining development permits and increasing property values through the Electronic Physical Planning Processing System (EPPPS) initiative. Kehinde Osinaike, General Manager of Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA), the system has reduced unnecessary physical interactions and enhances accountability.

The EPPPS initiative was recently discussed at a stakeholders' engagement held at The Stable (Union Bank Sports Club) in Surulere. Tpl. Osinaike emphasized that the focus is on transforming citizens' experience from application to permit issuance. He encouraged stakeholders to understand and effectively use the system, urging active participation and feedback for the success of the EPPPS.

Hon. Bamidele Yusuf, Executive Chairman of Surulere Local Government, acknowledged the government's effort to improve access, privacy, and collaboration between the Ministry and the public. He noted that development permits enhance property value and loan eligibility, warning that construction without permits can lead to severe consequences.

Tpl. Leke Oduwaye, in his lecture, noted that the building approval process has become less tedious with the introduction of EPPPS. He added that documents for building construction are now being managed more effectively, and stakeholders can seek clarity during interactive sessions.

The event attracted participants from different districts who engaged in robust discussions on the benefits of the digital system. Community representatives present were urged to relay information back to their communities. The Lagos State Government's collaboration with local governments aims to ensure orderly development.
