Political leaders, professionals, and community stakeholders from across Ogun West have called for stronger grassroots mobilisation to boost the region's quest to produce the next governor of Ogun State in 2027. The call was made during the 3rd Nigeria Independence Day Dinner organised in Ota by the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency, Hon. Olanrewaju Bashorun, popularly known as LarryBash. The event brought together politicians, lawyers, journalists, labour leaders, civil society organisations, students, traders, artisans, traditional community representatives, and other residents.

The dinner, themed "Breaking the Ogun West Governorship Jinx in 2027 – Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI) in Perspective," aimed to discuss the region's political future. Speakers at the gathering stressed the need for greater unity and a more coordinated political strategy to ensure that Ogun West translates its electoral strength into success at the governorship poll. They also highlighted the importance of unity, increased voter participation, and sustained community engagement.

Former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Kazeem Salako, commended LarryBash for creating a platform that united people from different backgrounds to discuss the region's political future. He urged stakeholders to intensify voter education and grassroots engagement, particularly among citizens who traditionally do not participate in elections. This, he believes, will help to increase voter turnout and ensure the region's political aspirations are achieved.

Convener of the Ogun West Initiative, Olootu Bolaji Adeniji, delivered the keynote address, calling for stronger political organisation and collective action. He said the region must effectively harness its voting population to achieve its long-standing governorship ambition. Adeniji's remarks emphasised the need for a more coordinated approach to politics in the region.

LarryBash, in his remarks, urged residents to embrace responsible leadership, active citizenship, and sustained grassroots mobilisation. He also appealed to participants to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC governorship candidate Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as YAYI, and other party candidates as part of efforts to advance the APC's Renewed Hope Agenda. He stressed that the campaign for Ogun West's political advancement should extend beyond politicians to include professionals, youths, workers, business owners, students, artisans, and community leaders.

Participants described the gathering as a strategic platform for building consensus ahead of the 2027 general elections. The event reflected growing momentum behind Ogun West's long-standing aspiration to produce the state's next governor, with Senator Adeola emerging as the APC candidate for the 2027 Ogun State governorship election. Organisers said the region must now move beyond political aspirations by strengthening grassroots structures and mobilising widespread public support ahead of the election.

The event was seen as a step towards achieving Ogun West's political goals, with stakeholders vowing to work together to ensure the region's success in the 2027 governorship election. The rallying of stakeholders behind YAYI's governorship bid is expected to increase the region's chances of producing the next governor of Ogun State.
