The Moroccan pharmaceutical group Laprophan is preparing to join the Casablanca Stock Exchange after obtaining the necessary visa from the Autorité Marocaine des Marchés de Capitaux (AMMC) on October 28. The company's IPO will be carried out through a capital increase of nearly 1.4 billion dirhams and a sale of 822 million dirhams, totaling 2.22 billion dirhams. This operation is the largest in the health sector this year.
According to Dr. Farid Bennis, CEO of Laprophan, the IPO aims to finance the company's external growth, particularly the acquisition of laboratory Polymedic. The funds generated will directly finance this acquisition, which will enable Laprophan to strengthen its position in the high-value-added medication segment. Laprophan and Polymedic are complementary entities with no overlapping specialties.
The IPO will enable Laprophan to bolster its financial structure and accelerate its industrial expansion. The company operates in over 50 countries and has a portfolio of 1,300 marketing authorizations covering 15 major therapeutic areas. The IPO will comprise a capital increase reserved for the public and a sale of existing shares held by MC IV Pharma and MC IV Morocco.
The price of the share is set at 341 dirhams, and the subscription period will run from November 9 to 17, 2026. The first listing is scheduled for November 25. At the end of the operation, the shares offered to the public will represent 37.64% of the capital and voting rights. Laprophan's business plan forecasts a consolidated turnover of 2.83 billion dirhams in 2026, rising to 4.31 billion dirhams in 2031.
Over the period 2023-2025, Laprophan's consolidated turnover showed a 10% annual growth rate, reaching 1.82 billion dirhams in 2025. The company's net result consolidated stood at 109.3 million dirhams in 2025, representing an annual growth rate of 34.6% over the same period. The equity has also seen an annual growth rate of 14.5% per annum, reaching 1.03 billion dirhams in 2025.
Laprophan, which has four production sites in Casablanca, Aïn Aouda, and Lugano, Switzerland, plans to accelerate its growth in the coming years through a structured development strategy. This strategy focuses on accelerating international expansion, deploying the European hub, strengthening leading positions in Morocco, and selective external growth.
The acquisition of Polymedic will enable Laprophan to expand its portfolio to 138 marketing authorizations covering 12 therapeutic areas, with expertise in dermatology, central nervous system, and cardiovascular diseases. The company employs nearly 1,450 people and has a 75-year history in the pharmaceutical industry.
