La Croisette, a popular shopping destination in Mauritius, is preparing to host the 15th edition of its Food Festival on October 2-3. The event will feature over 35 food stalls offering a diverse range of cuisines from different parts of the world. The festival aims to provide an accessible and convivial experience for visitors, with portions priced at a maximum of Rs 250. This initiative allows visitors to sample various dishes without breaking the bank.
The Food Festival will take place over two days, with the first day starting at 5 pm and the second day at 12 pm. On both days, visitors can expect to indulge in a wide selection of cuisines, including Indian, Italian, Thai, seafood, Mexican, and American food, among others. The event will also feature the Allée Typik, which showcases local flavors and specialties. A total of 38 participants will be taking part in the festival, including La Croisette's own brands, external exhibitors, and participants from the Allée Typik.
Some of the participating food outlets include Indian King, Pomodoro Pizzeria Trattoria, Doner Kebab, Raisu & Spice, Ocean Basket, Enka, Enn Zistwar Poul, Divino, Zesty Bites by Mr Salami, Smasher, Panarottis, Mr Bao, Bollywood Burritos, and Oasis Juice Bar. External participants such as Ricardo Fast Food, O Cheese Naan, Cozy Burger, Thai Food Gang, Bol So, Beach Bay, Mojo Grill, Nanda Snack, Sitar, and Lakaaz Lamer will also be joining in. The Allée Typik will feature local participants like Anaco, Alouda Pillay, Mister Chu, Goutsa, Abdool Rahim Sweets, Gourmet Baton, Rozah Pastry, Filli, Coco Bubble Tea Mauritius, Haagen Daaz, Mr Spice, Rue Coco, Atelier 407, Sugar Cloud, and Gloria Bros – Ice Cream Truck.
Nasrullah Goolfee, Marketing Executive at La Croisette, emphasized that the festival aims to bring people together and provide an enjoyable experience. He stated that the event offers something for everyone, with a variety of cuisines, entertainment, and activities for all ages. The festival's organizers have planned a range of activities, including musical performances, games, and challenges. DJ Ashley.B and Yash.B from the Reviival Collective will be performing on both days.
On the first day of the festival, the local band Les Zilwa will perform live on stage at 7:30 pm. On the second day, Anonym will take over at 7:30 pm for another musical session. Visitors can also participate in several games and challenges, including the Guess the Ingredient Challenge and the Guess The Sauce Challenge. Additionally, a Bubble Dome will be set up, and a stilt walker will be roaming around the center on the second day.
