Newly elected NPP Communications Director, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has come to the defense of Kojo Fosu Boadu, popularly known as Kojo Bamba, the NPP's newly elected First Vice Chairman. Aboagye praised Bamba's intelligence, creativity, and political experience, stating that he could easily hold a senior leadership position in the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Aboagye made these comments on Joy FM's program, The Pulse, in response to criticism from NDC Deputy General Secretary, Mustapha Gbande.

Mustapha Gbande had described the NPP's decision to elect Kojo Bamba as First Vice Chairman as "backward politics." However, Aboagye disagreed with Gbande's assessment, saying that Bamba has demonstrated the ability to mobilize delegates and run an effective campaign. Aboagye also questioned whether Gbande would have been able to win a similar position in the NPP, suggesting that Gbande's criticism was unfounded.

Aboagye further praised Bamba's leadership abilities, stating that he could comfortably rise to the top of the NDC's leadership structure. He attributed Bamba's success to his high level of intelligence, innovation, and creativity. Aboagye also noted that people with Bamba's qualities were not necessarily interested in joining a political party simply because of positions.

Kojo Bamba recently secured 3,116 votes to emerge First Vice Chairman of the NPP at the party's National Delegates Conference in Kumasi. Aboagye pointed to this achievement as evidence of Bamba's ability to compete in a difficult internal election, beating 13 other candidates. He asked how Gbande could claim to be better than Bamba, given his impressive track record.

Aboagye also rejected the suggestion that a person's background should determine whether they can rise to senior political positions. He cited the example of NDC MP Francis-Xavier Sosu, who rose from a difficult childhood to become a Member of Parliament. Aboagye argued that this example showed that political leadership should remain open to people from different backgrounds.

The debate over Bamba's election has sparked a wider conversation about how political parties treat people from different backgrounds. Aboagye accused the NDC of creating the impression that people without professional qualifications or formal political backgrounds could not attain senior positions within the party. He suggested that this approach could alienate ordinary Ghanaians who are watching how the NDC treats individuals from different backgrounds.

Aboagye concluded by praising Bamba's commitment to the NPP and his ability to protect the party's ballot. He expressed confidence that Bamba would continue to serve the NPP effectively in his new role. The NPP's decision to elect Bamba as First Vice Chairman has been seen as a strategic move to strengthen the party's leadership.
