The Kogi state government has launched a mobile medical service initiative, targeting inmates and personnel at the Koton Karfe Correctional Centre. On September 25, 2026, the Kogi State Ministry of Health conducted a medical outreach program at the facility, providing basic medical screening and other health services.
The mobile medical team, led by Dr. Komolafe, utilized advanced technology, including Portable Digital X-ray with Artificial Intelligence capability, to screen for tuberculosis and other chest-related conditions. The team collected various body samples from beneficiaries for further laboratory investigations. This intervention was initiated by Governor Ododo as part of his administration's commitment to the health and wellbeing of persons in correctional facilities.
The medical outreach program provided services to 188 inmates and personnel of the Correctional Service at the facility.
