Kenya Power has announced that it will be undertaking scheduled electricity maintenance in six counties on Thursday, September 24, 2026. The maintenance will affect parts of Nairobi, Kajiado, Kericho, Narok, Nyeri, Kiambu, and Mombasa counties. The planned interruptions will take place between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., or 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., depending on the affected area. Customers in the listed locations have been advised to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the scheduled maintenance.
In Nairobi County, the maintenance will affect parts of Kitsuru and Karen. The interruption in Kitsuru will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will impact areas including Tate Close, Kitsuru Road, and Forward Close, alongside adjacent customers. In Karen, the outage will also run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will affect areas such as Ololua Close, West Wood Road, Kerapon Road, Mwitu Estate, and Mutero PCEA, among others.
Kajiado County will also experience planned maintenance, which will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Affected areas include part of Kajiado Town, Saab Royale, Suguna Farm, Oloosuyian, Referral Road, Showground, Esokota, Osilingi Farm, Kipeto, Jua Kali, East Matt, and Urban, alongside adjacent customers. The maintenance is aimed at ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the power supply in the county.
In Kericho County, the interruption will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Buret. Affected areas include Ngoinaroad Market, Kabartega School, Kaminjeiwet School, Botony School, and DC Residence, alongside adjacent customers. The maintenance will help to identify and rectify any issues with the power infrastructure in the area.
Narok County will also experience an electricity interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in parts of Ololunga and Mulot. Affected areas include Ololunga Town, Megenyu Market, Oleshapani Market, Sogam Market, Nkorinkori Market, Lemek Market, Aitong Market, Sogoo Market, Tendwet Market, Kimogoro Market, Mulot Market, Baraka Market, Kipturgut Market, Kutete Market, Olmirani Market, Olchoro Market, and Melelo Market, alongside adjacent customers.
In Nyeri County, three areas are scheduled for maintenance. The outage in Gatarakwa Girls and Bellevue will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will affect locations including Kabendera Primary School, Kabendera Market, Bellevue Market, Gatarakwa Market, and Gatarakwa Girls, alongside adjacent customers. Additionally, Chaka and Kihanjo, as well as Blue Valley and Witemere, will also experience planned maintenance.
The maintenance will also affect Kiambu County and Mombasa County. In Kiambu, several areas will experience planned maintenance from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including Ndumbuini, Part of Kianoo 87, Kimende, and Kinale. In Mombasa, planned maintenance will affect parts of Bamburi, Utange, and Kiembeni from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The affected areas include Utange, Masai Utange, Joho Secondary School, and various other locations.
