This warning was given by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Justice and Constitutional Matters, Aminu Hussaini. The statement was made in response to a video involving Aminu Babba Dan’Agundi, Sarkin Dawaki Babba.
The video in question showed Aminu Babba Dan’Agundi speaking about the government’s recent restrictions on Durbar activities and giving his interpretation of the ongoing court cases concerning the Kano Emirship. Aminu Hussaini stated that while people have the right to express their views on issues of public interest, courts are responsible for interpreting, clarifying, and enforcing their orders. He emphasized that a person’s personal interpretation of a court order does not give them the legal right to ignore a directive issued by a lawful public authority.
Aminu Hussaini further advised that anyone who believes a government directive conflicts with a court order should approach the court for clarification or seek other legal remedies. He urged such individuals not to publicly declare their intention to disobey the directive or encourage others to do so.
