The Kano state Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa, has cautioned party members and loyalists of Deputy Governor Murtala Sule Garo and Deputy Senate President Barau I. Jibrin against actions capable of sabotaging the party's interest in the 2027 election. The warning comes amid brewing political infighting between the two Kano North Senatorial District leaders.

Garo and Jibrin have been locked in a serious power play, which many believe can affect the fortunes of APC in Kano North Senatorial District in the 2027 elections. Their supporters have engaged in a show of strength, gradually dwindling the limelight of APC in the district. Doguwa has threatened to take disciplinary action against party members and supporters who continue to perpetrate actions capable of undermining the party's fortunes and interest.

Doguwa advised the warring factions to sheathe their swords, resolve their differences, and work together for the victory of APC at all levels in the 2027 election circle. He vowed that APC would accomplish the mandate of delivering all her candidates, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, and other party flag-bearers in the 2027 polls.

The Kano APC Chairman issued the warning during an engagement with party leaders in Kano North, represented by Zonal Chairman, Kano North Senatorial District, Hon. Abdullahi Magaji Lamba Bichi. Doguwa noted that the commitment of the leadership in the zone must remain absolute and unshakeable, upholding the principles of loyalty and unity among stakeholders, leaders, members, and supporters.

According to Doguwa, the party expected its members to uphold discipline, unity, loyalty, and respect for constituted authority, warning against activities capable of undermining the party's cohesion, interest, peace, and harmony. Individuals found engaging in anti-party activities, factionalism, or attempts to undermine the party and its candidates would face disciplinary measures, including suspension or expulsion.

Bichi described Senator Barau I. Jibrin as the leader of the APC in Kano North Senatorial District, stressing that the party remains united under his leadership. He called on party leaders, stakeholders, and members across the Senatorial District to mobilize and vote for Tinubu as President, Governor Abba Yusuf, and Senator Jibrin in the 2027 elections.

The infighting between Garo and Jibrin has raised concerns about the party's chances in the 2027 elections. The Kano APC chair's warning is seen as an effort to quell the tensions and maintain party unity ahead of the elections. The party's ability to present a united front will be crucial in determining its success in the polls.
