According to the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, the governor's approval covers 1,339 beneficiaries, including retirees and eligible families of deceased public servants. A breakdown of the beneficiaries revealed that 210 Local Government retirees will receive N515 million under the Defined Benefit Scheme. Additionally, N3.144 billion has been approved for 1,129 beneficiaries under the Contributory Pension Scheme.
The Contributory Pension Scheme beneficiaries comprise 402 retirees from the State Service and 727 retirees from the Local Government Councils.
