Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has set a target of three million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections. This ambitious goal is predicated on the state's significant voter base, with Kaduna ranking third in the voters' register. According to Sadiq Mamman Lagos, who represented Governor Sani at a recent event, the state's substantial voter population makes it a crucial location for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to focus its mobilisation efforts.

To aid in grassroots mobilisation and campaign efforts, Governor Sani donated Toyota Highlander vehicles to APC local government chairmen in Zone 3. This zone corresponds to the Kaduna South Senatorial District and comprises eight local government areas. The donation aims to facilitate movement and enhance campaign activities at the grassroots level, enabling the chairmen to effectively reach out to voters across their respective areas.

The handover ceremony for the vehicles was attended by notable figures, including the Kaduna State APC chairman, Hon. Atiku Isaac Sankey. According to Mamman Lagos, the vehicles will enable the chairmen to move around their local government areas and wards, thereby intensifying campaign efforts for the APC ahead of the 2027 elections. This strategic move is part of the party's broader preparations for the upcoming polls.

Mamman Lagos emphasised the importance of Kaduna's voter base, stating that the state's ranking in the voters' register informed the party's expectation of securing three million votes for Tinubu. He expressed confidence that with the donated vehicles and enhanced mobilisation efforts, the APC is well-positioned to achieve its goal in the state. Kaduna's political importance and unity across its three senatorial zones make it a strategic location for the party's mobilisation efforts.

During the event, Mamman Lagos also made a case for Tinubu to complete his tenure, urging voters in Northern Nigeria to allow him to finish his term. He argued that the South had supported the North's bid to produce former President Muhammadu Buhari, who served eight years between 2015 and 2023. Mamman Lagos called for reciprocity, suggesting that it is now the North's turn to support the South's interests.

Mamman Lagos further stated that the North should focus on supporting Tinubu's administration, rather than seeking power at the centre. He envisioned a future where a younger, more intellectually inclined leader from the North could emerge to lead the country. According to him, this leader should be a technocrat who understands the cultural and religious nuances of Nigeria, capable of driving meaningful development and reform.

The donation of vehicles and the emphasis on grassroots mobilisation underscore the APC's commitment to securing a strong electoral performance in Kaduna State during the 2027 general elections. With Kaduna's significant voter base and the party's strategic mobilisation efforts, the stage is set for an intense campaign season. The success of these efforts will likely depend on various factors, including the party's ability to effectively utilise the donated vehicles and connect with voters at the grassroots level.
