Kabale University, a not-for-profit community institution established in 2002, is seeking a Vice Chancellor to provide leadership and manage resources effectively. The University has transformed from a private to a public institution, granted a charter by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education. The Vice Chancellor will oversee policy and planning formulation, management and fiscal control, and external liaison.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. from a reputable university, at least an Associate Professor rank, and a strong record of scholarship, administration, teaching, and service. They should have experience in senior university leadership, strategic planning, policy development, governance, and financial management. The Vice Chancellor will be responsible for implementing strategic plans, mobilizing resources, and ensuring good governance.
Key duties include spearheading policy and planning formulation, coordinating strategic management plans, and supervising the Senior Management Team. The Vice Chancellor will also oversee resource allocation, maintain efficiency and effectiveness, and ensure good conduct among staff and students. They will represent the University externally to promote awareness and understanding of its mission and objectives.
