Justin Kodua Frimpong has been re-elected as the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He secured a massive 4486 votes, the highest gathered by any contestant in the 2026 national executive elections. This significant endorsement from the party members paves the way for his second term in office. Frimpong's closest contender, Sylvester Tetteh, garnered 1340 votes, while Eugene Boakye Antwi and Dr. Charles Dwamena received 162 and 129 votes respectively.
The NPP national executive elections took place at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi. In another key position, John Boadu has been elected as the National Chairman of the party, leading it into the 2028 general election. Boadu won with 48.5 percent of the votes cast. As a former General Secretary of the NPP, Boadu staged a successful comeback, polling 2888 votes to beat his closest contender, Boakye Kyeremanten Agyarko, who secured 2408 votes.
Other contestants for the National Chairman position included Paul A. Afoko, who was attempting a comeback after his earlier term was truncated due to a suspension in 2015. Afoko garnered 790 votes, while Sammy Crabbe received 41 votes. The election results signify a new lineup for the NPP's national executive, with various positions filled by different candidates.
In the National Vice Chairman category, 13 individuals contested for positions. The results saw Kojo Fosu Boadu emerge as the 1st Vice Chairman with 3116 votes. Henry Nana Boakye secured the 2nd Vice Chairman position with 3061 votes, while Nana Akomea obtained 2987 votes to become the 3rd Vice Chairman.
The National Treasurer position was won by Alfred Kwadwo Thompson with 2243 votes. Other notable results include Tahiru Issahaku Moomin, who garnered 1605 votes, and Hajia Ahmed Ruka Saida, who secured 687 votes. In the National Organiser category, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover emerged victorious with 2964 votes.
The NPP also elected officials for the National Women's Organiser and National Youth Organiser positions. Mavis Hawa Yakubu won the National Women's Organiser position with 783 votes, while Abanga Yakubu Fuseini secured the National Youth Organiser position with 1550 votes. Additionally, Mohammed Ali Suraj was elected as the NASARA Organiser with 372 votes.
Dennis Edward Miracles Aboagye was elected unopposed as the National Communications Director. The NPP's national executive elections concluded with the election of various officials, marking a new chapter for the party as it prepares for future elections.
